If you would have asked me a few months ago I would have said ban his ass. Ive come to realize he just has a fucked up sense of humor and he has made me laugh a few times. But this thread should serve as a warning some things are off limits and Gabby is one of them! This is coming from a father don't say another word about her. You have pissed off V.J. and at this point even an appropriate joke is out of the question. In fact you should really apologize. I don't believe he is racist I think those comments were made in sarcasm but he should clear this up. Don't get to derogatory when talking about women and everything else is pretty much harmless. You know, I was 100% on the ban train (I may have even helped try to initiate it...). After reading this thread I think I've had a bit of a change of heart.

I'll preface this by saying I still find the guy incredibly annoying and some of the comments he's made about women in this sport have earned him the ass-kicking Gabby will no doubt hand him once she's back on the mats. I have no respect for someone who'd act like that. (see the women in jiu jitsu thread) That said, a salient point was made that we do have an Ultimate Ass thread chock full of some of the same kinds of comments.

This place has become a haven from places like the UG; maybe I'm a little over-protective of that because we seem to have formed a nice little community here. I want people to be able to come here for a real discussion of life and jiu jitsu. Sometimes we're gonna get antagonistic and things might get a little heated. Sometimes somebody's going to say something offensive. But I don't wanna see this forum become a police state (how fucking ironic would THAT be?). Get banned for being a fraudulent black belt. Get banned for spamming the forum and acting like an out-of-control asshole. But I'm worried that we really will get to a point where we're watching over every word if we start banning people for expressing an opinion -- even if I think most of his opinions were digested before they came out of his mouth.

You do have a good point Jason. Damn man I may have been quick on the trigger as well, but I am very protective of our family especially of our women warriors. You know as well as I do they deserve the utmost respect.

I say keep em.
